The International Rocket Ball Council has officially granted affiliation to the Rocket Ball Federation of India (RBFI). This recognition reinforces RBFIβs authority and responsibility in promoting and developing the Rocket Ball sport across the nation. The Federation is committed to introducing the game in schools, colleges, and universities, ensuring wide accessibility. Rocket Ball is designed to be affordable and inclusive, making it suitable for both urban and rural communities across India.
Rocket Ball is a new outdoor sport in which two teams compete to score the most points by throwing the ball at the opposing team's post.
Rocket Ball was created by me, Gopala Krishnan, in 2003, inspired by my brother Satheesh, who was unable to play outdoor games due to a health condition. To keep him engaged, I arranged plastic bottles for him to throw a ball at. While he could occasionally knock them down, the bottles would topple over too easily, so I replaced them with a pole. When the ball struck the pole, it would rebound to the ground β and from that simple moment, the core concept of Rocket Ball was born. In the original rules, if the ball touched the ground after hitting the pole, the thrower earned 2 points, while catching the rebound earned the fielding team 2 points. Over the past decade, the game has evolved significantly, and today it has grown into a well-structured sport.

Players must shoot the ball with speed towards the goal pole. Slow shots may return inside the C Circle.

Players must aim at the white space on the goal pole. Hitting the yellow area will not give points.

Players should target the goal pole precisely and control the direction where the ball rebounds.
After a correct shot, teammates must catch the rebound. If opponents catch it, the shooter is out.

The Rocket Ball Federation of India was founded with a bold vision β to usher in a new era in the world of sports. Our mission is to inspire innovation, uphold discipline, and create equal opportunities for every player across the nation.
We are committed to building a strong and dynamic platform where talent is identified, nurtured, and elevated β from grassroots levels to the international arena. Every player deserves a chance to rise, and we are here to make that possible.
Our ultimate dream is to establish Rocket Ball as a globally recognized sport and to see it proudly featured in the Olympic Games in the future. This is not just a goal β it is our promise and our direction.
To achieve this global vision, we are working towards building the International Rocket Ball Council (IRBC), a unified international body that will connect nations, standardize the game, and lead Rocket Ball onto the world stage.
We believe in empowering youth with passion, strength, unity, and a spirit of excellence. Together, we are not just building a sport β we are building a movement for the future.
